Marble Fireplaces

The marble fireplaces we will show on this page is just a small amount of what we can supply. The range is massive and always changing. Some of the surrounds can be supplied in different sizes and available in different choices of marble.
We also offer a complete made to measure service on some surrounds and even if you have a design you would like to be made up we can get that done as well.
All of the hearths and back panels can be made to measure, shaped and finshed off in many ways i.e curved front, cut corners, rounded corners, boxed flush etc...

There are two types of marbles available. Firstly you have your conglomerates. This is where real marble is crushed down and pressed together with colourants, resins and then polished off. Conglomerate marble is man made effectively so it is normally more consistant in looks with each batch produced.
The marble is priced up in groups 1/A to 8/E depending on what company the chosen marble is from. The difference between the groups is clearly noticable. Starting from 1/A the marble will have big blotchy patches in. The higher you go in thr groups the more finer the patches get, you end up with like a grainy speckle effect which we call Micro Conglomerate.

The Second type of marble is Natural Marble. As marble is a natural product, it can suffer from slight shading, veining, fossilisation, crystal markings and is inherently unsound. Every manufacturer use a strict check control system to make sure the delivered product would not look unslightly when installed. Certain effects (as mentioned) are part of the marble and can not always be prevented, which is the beauty of a natural product. You have to take into account the marble is quarryed out of the land which has been part of planet Earth for millions of years.
In the same catogory as Natural Products you also have Granite, Slate & Stone. Granite is used quite often for kitchen worksurfaces due to its resistancy of scratching and staining.
Marble, granite, slate and stone are also used for floor and wall tiles which look really effective.
